After Nobes raced to the summit on Saturday, Lakes accused him of cheating, before realising his error. However, Turls then accused the league leader of an early attempt at mind games after Nobes claimed to be surprised by his table-topping position.
Then in midweek, Nottingham Forest's late third goal against Bradford in the League Cup saw Turls move level at the top with Nobes. Had the Bantams held out for 2-0, Nobes would have extended his lead to four points.
This weekend sees the first appearance of Boston, who begin their UniBond Premier campaign. Elsewhere, Preston make their first away trip, and the City Ground hosts its first Championship game of the season.
