The Fan Files

Throughout the season we talk to the real fans of football - folk who follow their local club up and down the country. From Rushden to Reading, and Wrexham to West Brom, we get to the heart of what it's like to be a lower league supporter.

Here you can read all our interviews from the Fan Files.

Rochdale
Dale fan Jon tells us what it's like supporting a side who haven't been promoted or relegated in over 30 years.

Chester City
City supporter John discusses the current problems surrounding the troubled Conference club on and off the pitch.

Wycombe Wanderers
The difficulties in making the step-up from League Two to League One, as Chairboys fan Tim explains.

Torquay United
The Gulls have returned to the Football League and Torquay fan Shaun tells us what it's like to be back.

Notts County
They're the League Two side everyone is talking about and County fan Keith gives us the lowdown on what life is like now at Notts County.

The views expressed in these interviews are those of the individual and not Soccer AM/MW.

The Radio Show

Soccer AM/MW was originally a football talk show broadcast from 2007-2008 on Frequency 1350 AM/MW, the student radio station at Preston's University of Central Lancashire.

The brainchild of Craig Laycock, Seb Noble, and Matt Turland (left-right), the show focused purely on the game in the Football and Non Leagues - nothing on the Premier League.

Making the transition onto the internet in 2009, its unique mix of football chat and banter lives on.

The usual features from the radio show are here. Every week the lads preview and then review a match from the Football League. The Prediction League competition continues throughout the season too.

The lads also debate and discuss the big talking points in the game, and there's plenty of the fun and trivia which made the show so popular. You can find all these on the panel at the top and right hand side of the page.

Featured League

Calling fans of Southport, Alfreton, and Harrogate - we know you're reading this - and have we got exciting news for you!

Yes, that's right, in the sort of random act of number guessing that can become a daytime TV hit, the Soccer AM/MW team have picked their Non-League division of the season - and it's the Blue Square Conference North.

In a draw that took place yesterday, the BSN was randomly picked from a shortlist of 11 possible divisions. Unfortunately we weren't able to rope a former FA Cup winner to do the deed, heck, we couldn't even afford Jim Rosenthal to present it live on national telly.... badly.

We did have Soccer AM/MW's reigning Prediction League Champion Matt Turland to do the honours though, so what more do you need?

So, over the coming nine months we'll have plenty of updates keeping you in tune with the rollercoaster ride that is the northern half of the Conference's second tier.

We know you're as excited as we are.

Nobes.
